I know this is an oddity, but I'm posting today to remind you guys of some very exciting happenings!
Don't forget about the $90 CSN giveaway that ends tomorrow, February 13th!
There is also the sponsor spots. They're free. Who doesn't like free? Even if you just want to drive traffic to your site! Just shoot me an email!
You'll also notice that I cleaned up the sidebars a bit! Did you notice the fun social bookmark buttons? And I have started trying to use Twitter more. I want you guys to be more involved! So come join me on Twitter or Facebook!
Yep, you read that right. CSN is giving away $90. How's that for a birthday thank you? I knew you guys would like it. First lets talk about LCD TV Stands, or just flat panel tv screens in general. :)
You see with tax time upon us, and me being the uber-anal person I am. I have already filed our taxes and Virginia has graciously already cut our check. We didn't need a new TV, but the setup downstairs would work much better with a flat panel. We have two already, but the projection screen that we have will really only fit downstairs. The TV is only 5 years old. Its still got a lot of years behind it.
You see I'm playing Devil's advocate here, or the argument that Stephen and I have had about this TV for the last 6 months or so. We bought the projection with savings bonds of mine that had come of age, and it was good timing too, because the TV we did have was starting to go. Everyone on the right side of the screen was going green. Not to mention that we bought it on Black Friday of '05. Remember I have a 5 year old. Who turned 5 in December? Yea. I was 8 months pregnant and wholly miserable during this trip to Best Buy. I will tell you what though. No one messes with an angry uber-pregnant woman at 5 am on Black Friday at Best Buy. We got very nice service, probably because they were afraid I'd take off their heads if they weren't. :)
Can you believe that Black Friday is 4 days away?!?!? Cyber Monday is a week away! Eeeek! Are you guys already behind on your Christmas lists? I know I am! I have a list a mile long of things that need to be made for people, and we've only gone shopping for a few people. You'd think we'd be better planners than this. Its not like Christmas is at the same time of year every year. ;-)
Well if you guys are anything like most of my family then you're going to love what I'm about to share. Gina over at The Shabby Chic Cottage is hosting a Christmas Carnival and a day of giveaways! How amazingly awesome is that? Who doesn't like free stuff.....especially at this time of year?!?!
Well the news gets even better.....I'm participating in Gina's carnival, which means that the shop wares are up for grabs, but if you're impatient (and I sincerely hope that one of you is!) I have decided to give everyone a little bonus. I know that I rarely ever win giveaways and I know that a lot of you feel that way so I'm going to try and give everyone something. :) For the next week, from today, 11/22, to Cyber Monday, 11/29, I am offering a 10% discount to all of you, my faithful readers!
Who doesn't like free money? I wish I had a money tree for all the free money I'd love to have, but this is why this post is for you guys!
CSN contacted me about doing another giveaway for all you wonderful readers, and I, of course, said yes!
So here's the skinny. We all have tables. Coffee tables, end tables, console tables, buffets, random tables. CSN has a wonderful array of console tables. Here are a few of their vast inventory!
Since Heather is out having some fun in Nashville I thought I'd hijack her blog a bit and give you guys some information on a great online photo-editing software that is SO easy to use.
Before I do that, "hi!" - I'm Sarah from Soxy's Diamond. My little neglected blog is a spin off from my Red Sox blog (which I'm embarrassed to say is also in a neglected state right now. Anyhoo...). My blog talks about my life with some pictures, recipes and crafts thrown in here and there. Stop on by and say hello, I'm hoping to keep up with it a little bit more now that the busy summer is settling down.
Thank you to everyone who linked up! This was so fun and quite the learning experience. I've never used inlinkz before, so that was fun. There are lots of information on the back end of those. And after figuring out how to utilize it all, I discovered that we had a three way tie! Oh my!
The linky party closes today at 7pm EST! Make sure to get your projects in. The person with the most page views will win the $40 gift certificate to CSN stores! Party Here!
Hurry up! I want to see what you guys create! Make sure to visit some of the links! There are some really great crafters out there!
So I completely spaced that yesterday was Wednesday and that's when my very first linky party was supposed to start. I'm late to my own party! Ack!
Oh well, better late than never. :) I want to see what you guys have been doing and it can be anything as long as its family friendly. You can also enter up to 5 projects.
The person with the most visited link will win the $40 CSN gift card!
The linky party will run until 7 pm on Sunday EST, so lets see those projects. I'm very interested in what you guys have been doing!
I've been bad....I've been holding off on picking a winner for the $20 GC for naming my guest bedroom. Its not that I didn't want to pick someone, its just that I had a hard time deciding. Well, I've finally decided and I know this because I haven't changed my mind in the last 24 hours about my decision. Yep, that's how I'm basing this....if I don't change my mind then that must be it. :)
{Mr. Movie Guy Voice}In a galaxy far far away. In a time long long ago....
Ok so back around Easter, my grandfather showed me some leaded glass windows that he had saved from my Great-Great-Grandmother's farmhouse. I was in {love} with this from that moment. So I told him I would love to have them and refinish them. He told me I could have them for $50. I tried to cajole him into $0, but my grandfather is a very shrewd and astute person and {knew} that he could get far more for these beauts than $50, but I was family. :) So I gladly paid him $50. They came home with us along with another chair, and then sat for the next 3 months in my garage.
Way back in April Obsessively Stitching started posting detailed instructions on how to make your first quilt, and I followed along, at least up until my master bedroom redo. Then I had to play catch-up, but today, over at Caroline's blog, she is having a My Very First Quilt show! You all should definitely check it out and see all the beauties. :)
Well it's that time again! Do you remember on Wednesday I posted about a giveaway? Well the time to give that $40 gift certificate away is here! CSN is offering up a $40 gift certificate to any of their over 200 stores for one of you lucky commenters! So read on for the specifics.
Unlike other giveaways were you tell me in a comment what you'd use this money for....I think I'm going to change it up a bit! So here are my rules: :)
1) You don't have to be a follower, just 2) Tell blogland what your favorite quote is by leaving a comment in this post.
Ok gals, I have a dilemma.....a lighting dilemma. Here are my issues -
My dining room chandelier - a builder special. There's nothing wrong with it, but the nickel is not working for me, and I know I could paint it, but......I dunno. I got nothing.
My kitchen sink {don't mind the dishes} and can light. I would love to have a pendant hanging here. Hubby agrees. Yay! Now just to find one.
Oh wait....You thought I was going to announce the winner in the title. Ha! You're so silly. No, no I'm going to make you read a bit before announcing the winner. :)
Buuuuut, first, I am happy to announce that my bedroom make-over is complete (except for the pillows, but I'll tell you about that later)! I will do a full post on it tomorrow, but all I want to say right now about it is, Phew, thank goodness that's over. :) I will never, never, never, I mean ever make another duvet. And this time I mean it. :)
Ok so yesterday was interesting, in a good way, well most of it. :) Let me start off on the right foot, however.
Reminders
The DIY Club voting ends today, so make sure you have your vote in! Make sure to comment in yesterday's post, because Saturday morning I will be picking a winner from them.
I see give-aways all the time in blogland, and I did not realize until this moment how much planning and thought goes into each one. I suppose that with practice it does get easier, but I'm not there yet. :) So on to the show!
The Rules:
Become a follower and leave me a comment on this post. If you already are a follower, then please remind me with a comment on this post. :)
So I know it's only Tuesday, but it has been a spectacular week already!
First, I get notified that my Beveled Mirror Project was chosen as a top 10 project for the DIY Club this month. All of the projects are beautiful and I encourage everyone to vote for their favorite. My project is number 33. Good luck to all the entrants!
