So my epic fail a few days ago was salvaged with buttons, but being as my sister is not the only one who received all the perseverance in the family, I was determined to make my paper-pieced decorative ball happen. So I decided to google search Styrofoam crafts and low and behold I found this......Dow has a craft site for Styrofoam. Go figure. So then I find this little gem: Old World Globes in a Bowl.....exactly what I was trying to achieve. So after head-smacking myself....I pull out the needed ingredients for this project. Beware though....this is a MESSY project.

Well my sister, Dana, and I salvaged our decorative ball project. We did not attempt the paper strips again, but instead painted two styrafoam balls bronze and then raided Mom's button chest. :) I think it turned out very well!

Well we are back from Pennsylvania and the Baptism was wonderful. We could not have asked for better weather or friends and family to share it with. I do not have any good pictures yet of the outfit, but honestly I don't know that there were any taken. It was a whirlwind of a day and I completely forgot about getting any pictures of the outfit, but here are a couple of pictures from Sunday that I want to share. :) Oh and I don't think I've mentioned it before, but my sisters are twins. Fraternal, of course.

Anyways...on to my future plans. I'm not going to share them! Aren't I nice? LOL...ok I will share the fabric with you, but not what they are for or intended to be........sneaky, sneaky Mr. Deeds.

So when have I ever had time to complete 2 projects in one day? NEVER!!! Except today...well kind of. I would have finished had I not run out of glue sticks! I thought I had another bag of glue sticks, but apparently I was already using my other bag. Sadness, but oh well, I will just pick up like 5 more bags of glue sticks and then finish the last candlestick tomorrow. I can show off what I did today with the other two.

ITS DONE!!!!! Yay! So I finished up the jacket this morning and I am so pleased with how the two pieces turned out. I decided that I was not going to take any pictures of me trying it on. I still want/need to buy a belt for it (and any other accessories I may want/need) :) and I don't want to go showing off my handiwork unless its 100% complete. I am so happy its done though. Now I can move onto the projects that I've been chomping at the bit to get too!

I AM AHEAD OF SCHEDULE!!!! Ok, so I don't often get to say that, but I am so pleased that I got my dress done early, and to top it off I got the jacket cut out as well.

Sometimes things are meant to be, unfortunately the first suit was not meant to be. The jacket is not going to fit.....this month. It will fit after I dry up, but apparently that is not going to happen any time soon, maybe I should have brought out the cabbage sooner. :)

The skirt is another issue in and of itself. I mentioned a couple of posts ago that the zipper was not playing nicely, and I have given up trying to make it work. The belt...I'll finish just because it will complete the outfit, but in all reality this suit may just end up donated.

Well the second half of the suit is done! Skirts are usually easy, but for some reason this skirt was easy until the zipper went in. I could not get it to lie flat at the bottom of the zipper. I had my Mom look at it when she was over the other day and she suggested taking out the stitching that ran across the bottom...so I did, and it didn't help. Then I decided to take the zipper completely out and put it back in....nope still a slight bubble. I checked to make sure the skirt was hanging correctly and when the zipper was not in it fell just fine....then the zipper went in, so I fixed it at as best I could and we'll just have to go with it.

Photo frame collages are uber popular right now, and as such they are everywhere. Target has several photo frame collages that I love, but I don't love the $25 price tags. Not to mention they look really, really easy to make so I decided that I would try my hand at making one for my sewing room.

I wanted to incorporate the vintage scissor art that I made a few days ago, and a few weeks ago Shanty 2 Chic posted this tutorial on making your own dry erase board, and I knew I could expand on it. :) Do you see where my ideas start to mesh together? So off to A.C. Moore I go.

So you know the old adage - Measure twice, cut once? Well, it's true for a lot of things, including sewing, and I did get new measurements on myself before I cut  out my suit last week. They were not that different from my measurements before, so I figured no big deal. I'd cut out the jacket per the pattern's instructions and then adjust the skirt as needed (hip width and length). No biggie.

Well, yesterday I had the suit 90% done and deciced to do a test fit and it didn't fit that great around the bust....what?!?! So I had my mom re-measure me and sure enough my bust measurement was differen than what I'd taken.. Hrm. I check the jacket ease and there was 5", so why was it barely fitting? Then mom asks when I stopped breastfeeding H. DOH! I stopped on Sunday. Mom goes - well that's it then. Don't do anything to the jacket until you've dried up or at least until you've shrunk back down to a normal size. My mom is a genius. So luckily there is still 3 weeks before the baptism which is hopefully enough time to return to normal, but if not I have 2 alternatives....scrap the belt and wear a cami underneath the jacket and just leave it open or make a blouse that matches and pair a cute mauve belt with it...I've done some thinking about this. Luckily, like I said, I have some time so hopefully I can go with plan A, but at least there is a B and C in the wings.

Well, I'm still working on my suit for the baptism, but I had some time today when I couldn't work on it (in other words, H was awake and not himself...he's teething. Cut his first tooth on Saturday) and while I had a few minutes I decided to do a quick art project.
